The Mexican border town of Los Algodones, located about seven miles west of Yuma, Arizona, is a boomtown of medical tourism. Americans looking for cheap dental services, prescription drugs and eyeglasses cross the border to Los Algodones every day. According to the "Chicago Tribune," the town's dentists offer services at discounts of 70 percent or more from what Americans pay at home. Buses or shuttles from the Phoenix/Yuma area are convenient and inexpensive. Los Algodones is also known as a small but colorful shopping and gambling destination.

Dayo Dental

  • Dayo Dental provides one-day round trips to its clients to Los Algodones from the metro Phoenix area through its charter vans. Bring a family member during the first visit for free. As of November 2010, the initial trip and dental consultation are free, while the transportation fee for follow-up appointments is $45.
